The countries in the Group represent two-thirds of the United Nations membership and 80% of the world's population. As such, they have found an epicenter in Havana for consensus-building in key areas such as education, culture and the environment.
Recognizing that energy provides its largest source of GHG emissions, Cuba has included an unconditional target of transitioning 26 percent (compared to 24 percent in past NDCs) of its energy generation to renewable energy. The Climate Promise is being delivered in collaboration with key partners.
